More access = more supply. The price of ecto and shards are going to bottom out soon. 3 weeks after GWEN the price will plummet.

As soon as GWEN is released, people will have to go for all new titles - which will take loads of time, or they will simply be busy going through the game and there won't be a maxed title for a long time. Believe me, Anet has the ability to monitor the number of titles maxed, and I bet they did before they decided to make this change, so why don't we all keep our pants on and try not to cry when there isn't any favor in a week.

Errrr Access scrolls anyone? I don't see the difference honestly other than one is free and the other isn't. Access scrolls are favor on demand. So what's the big deal?

people are complaining because now that we pretty much constant favor everyone will be farming away and the price of ectos and shards will plummet down, not bad for me cause as soon as i get ectos i sell them.

When this change was first made, people were complaining...saying we'd never have favor because people wouldn't be maxing enough titles, or would eventually run out of titles to max.

Now people are complaining because we have too much favor.

You have to understand that this will not carry on. People will be more concerned with playing through GWEN than maxing their sweettooth title. Hell, people will then farm gold (No title for that) for their new GWEN armor.

This does show me that people are getting titles a lot more often that I'd have imagined. It was also pretty cool to get a few pms from strangers when I got Legendary Guardian.

But this shows that Anet miscalculated. The 3 minutes per certain maxed titles is purely arbitrary and shows that implemented real world, it doesn't acheive its goal: which I assume to be tying favor to pve elements in a way that makes favor still rewarding and something to enjoy while we have it.

Now, it's cheap, constant, and almost irrelevant.

Hmmmmm we've had what?? 3+ weeks of constant favor........hmmmm oh look Ectos and Shards are still at the same price.

it's possible that ecto/shard prices are not going down because they are already at rock bottom. It's possible that their price reflects the amount of time and expertise it takes to farm them, and very little else (such as scarcity) adding anything on top of that.
Say an average smite run nets you 1 ecto, which is 4.5k. Say it takes you 25 minutes to farm it (solo). So that's barely more than 9k/hr, which is about the same return as most reasonable farm runs, whether that's rares, greens, or just huge amounts of merchant fodder.

angelo: nice trolling attempt, but to be realistic, trading one crap favor system for another means both are equally criticizable.
